The exploratory group was formed by Khronos® Group, an open consortium of leading companies creating advanced 3D standards, at the end of April. Adobe, Deloitte Consulting, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, NVidia, Pinterest, Qualcomm, Samsung and Shopify are among the tech companies participating in the exploratory group.

Khronos cited a study by Gartner that predicts massive growth for AR/VR shopping in the next few years as high-speed 5G technology expands worldwide. Gartner predicts that by 2020, more than 100 million consumers will shop using AR technology. About fifty percent of retailers plan to deploy AR/VR 3D technology by next year, according to the report. With 5G’s higher speeds consumers will be able to experience real-time renderings creating truly immersive experiences. Once 5G technology is available NexTech is planning to launch a holographic fully volumetric 3D-AR human assistant which can be programmed to be used for eCommerce or for education.

The exploratory group will work together to research the creation of standards and guidelines to produce and distribute real-time 3D representations of products so they can be experienced realistically and consistently across all platforms and devices, such as mobile, Web and Augmented Reality (AR) or Virtual Reality (VR) solutions.

NexTech Signs AR eCommerce Deal with Cheeterz® Firearm Accessories

Cheeterz manufactures and sells accessories and devices which make the shooting process easier, including the proprietary Cheeterz “Assisted Load Ammunition” system. NexTech AR will provide 3D product models to Cheeterz through its web AR eCommerce platform, with the goal to introduce augmented reality as a part of Cheeterz overall brand delivery.

Walther is a German weapons manufacturer and a subsidiary of the PW Group. NexTech is going to provide 3D product models to Walther through its web AR eCommerce platform.

NexTech Adds to its IP Portfolio Filing A Non-Provisional Patent Application For Augmented Reality In A Retail Environment

March 26, 2019 – New York, NY – Toronto, ON – NexTech AR Solutions (the “Company” or “NexTech”) (OTCQB:NEXCF) (CSE: NTAR) (FSE:N29) is pleased to announce that it has filed with the USTPO a comprehensive non-provisional patent application titled METHODS AND DEVICES FOR AN AUGMENTED REALITY EXPERIENCE.” NexTech’s application covers proprietary approaches to displaying products in an augmented reality environment in a manner which using AR and AI enhances customer experiences in a retail environment from cannabis dispensaries to coffee shops.

NexTech Launches ‘Try-It-On’ Augmented Reality Experience for Online Retail

Web-based solution utilizes facial tracking capabilities and AI-powered computer vision technology to show online shoppers what they would look like while wearing various apparel items

The new solution for online retailers utilizes facial tracking capabilities and AI-assisted computer vision technology to provide a realistic experience that enables the consumer to see what they would look like wearing certain apparel items like glasses, headwear, jewelry, and more. The current iteration tracks eyes – enabling an AR preview for items like glasses, goggles, and other eyewear – with support shortly to follow for lips, ears, mouths, and other zones above the shoulder.
