As a UX/UI Designer you will help guide best-practices and set the standard for quality. Product Designers at Nextech3D conduct research, ideate, design, prototype and test products that solve business needs and push boundaries in the AR space. Through deep understanding of product vision and requirements, we create compelling, usable digital products from the ground up. We design complex web and mobile applications and platforms in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment to create industry leading SAAS & AR based product solutions. 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING 

• Conceptualize, designs, and deliver intuitive and compelling high-fidelity prototypes for Saas based products, responsive web apps, and mobile apps that support user needs and business objectives. 

• Work with Product Management, and engineering teams to create a shared understanding of the impact of technical, architectural, and platform decisions on the user experience. 

• Create and present interactive prototypes as proof of concepts serving as the starting point for requirements validation, conceptual design validation, and the basis for iterative development activities. 

• Advocate user needs throughout the development lifecycle in a fast-paced iterative environment to ensure the team develops the right product. 

• Mentor peers, stakeholders, and teammates on user-centered design principles and methodologies. 

• Work closely with the other members of the design team to leverage our collective strengths towards building the best product experience possible. 

• Work in close partnership with your product manager throughout the planning and delivery process and seek to understand both the user and business perspective 

• Advocate for the best solution possible and guide your work through to production working closely with engineering to deliver long-lasting, high-quality experiences. 

• Advocate for a user-first approach to problems with evidence-based insights in all areas of the business

   

WHAT YOU WILL BRING 

• SAAS, Augmented Reality, Start-up, or Agency experience is an asset but what follows is much more important if you: 

• Able to present a portfolio demonstrating a high level of UI design, UX or product design, and a clearly thought-out process to deliver an end-to-end digital product 

• 3+ years relevant working experience in UX/UI or Product Design 

• A variety of experiences with UX processes, best practices, and tools (such as Figma, Sketch, Invision etc) 

• Open minded, with a strong aptitude for giving and receiving feedback with a positive attitude. You work well collaboratively with various team members like product owners, stakeholders, marketers, product managers, engineers, and developers 

• Solid understanding of design patterns across platforms and operating systems. 

• A sense of urgency, can thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing needs and are able to work independently or collaborate within a larger group 

• Have helped launch new innovative product(s) that push the boundaries of what’s expected for the market 

• Encompass excellent verbal and written communication skills, effectively conveying design processes, ideas, and solutions 

• Can think conceptually and creatively to generate new ideas, concepts, and solutions with a strong command of user experience design fundamentals 

• Are a creative problem solver and can produce high-level designs, low-to-high fidelity wireframes and functional prototypes. 

• Are a systems thinker, bringing consistency, great design, and a creative and innovative mindset and have an ability to simplify complex concepts and requirements. 

• Are a team player, you care about sharing knowledge, and supporting fellow designers, and assisting in guiding associate designers for success as a team 

• Have experience working with design systems and building products with components 

• Have strong organization and time management skills in meeting demanding deadlines for smaller and larger scale tasks

   

WHAT IT TAKES 

• 3-5 years of relevant working experience as a UX/Product designer. Computer engineering or development background as asset. 

• Bachelor’s degree, College Diploma (Bootcamps are acceptable) or equivalent in UX/UI or Product Design 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conceptualize complex systems 

• Excellent listener, facilitator, communicator, and team player 

• Self-reliant, used to taking initiative, and great at follow-ups 

• Creative, with solid understanding of UX & Product design best practices / principles 

• Experience with a variety of UI/UX design and prototyping tools, Figma is a must. e.g. Sketch, Invision, Photoshop, Illustrator etc. 

• Knowledge of AODA & accessibility standards
